The Battlefords Stars are in need of a new head coach and general manager.
The team announced this morning that Ken Pearson is stepping down for family reasons. Pearson has two young children that reside in Manitoba and he has decided that the interests of his boys come first so he is resigning with hopes of finding another hockey job closer to home.
Pearson became the head coach of the hockey team in May of 2008.
Club spokesman Stew Demmans says a search for a replacement will begin immediately.
