Sadikov invited to Red Wings prospects camp

Press Release

Otters goaltender Ramis Sadikov has received an invite to Detroit Red Wings prospects camp, which begins September 10 in Traverse City, Michigan.

Sadikov is coming off one of the top seasons for a goaltender in Otters history, posting a save percentage of .912 and a 2.88 goals-against-average in a team-record 36 wins.

Despite not getting drafted in the past two NHL Entry Drafts, Sadikov will compete for the Wings in the well-known Traverse City Prospects Tournament. Among his teammates are Ottawa 67's goaltender Petr Mrazek and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds defenseman Ryan Sproul.

The Red Wings will be in the (Gordie) Howe Division with the Buffalo Sabres, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild. Their first game will be against Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on September 10.

Past Otters who have participated in the tournament include defenseman David Shields and forward Luke Gazdic.

Sadikov's invite to prospects camp also makes him a free-agent invite to the main camp, where he will test his skills against stars Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg.

Born on Feb. 26, 1991 in Moscow, Russia, Sadikov is eligible to return to the Ontario Hockey League as an overager.
