KNIGHTS ACQUIRE PATTERSON

LONDON, ONTARIO: London Knights General Manager Mark Hunter announced today that the team has acquired goaltender Jacob Patterson from the Plymouth Whalers. In exchange for Patterson, the London Knights traded goaltender Darien Ekblad, the Knights’ own 3rd Round Pick in 2012, Plymouth’s 5th Round Pick in 2012 and Plymouth’s 8th Round Pick in 2012 back to the Plymouth Whalers.

Ekblad, a 17 year old from Emeryville, Ontario, stands at 6.02 and weighs 185lbs and was selected by the Knights in the 9th Round of the 2010 OHL Draft.

Patterson, a 17 year old from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, played last season with the Hamilton Red Wings of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. Standing at 6.00 and 160lbs, Patterson played 8 games with the Red Wings last season recording 1 shut out with a GAA of 3.49 and a save percentage of .875.
