DOGS COMPLETE TRADE WITH DRAKKAR

SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs have added a quality veteran to their protected list in a trade with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

The Sea Dogs traded an 11th-round pick in the 2012 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft to Baie-Comeau in exchange for forward Danny Chiasson and a 12th-round pick in 2012.

The 19-year-old Edmundston, N.B., native is a veteran of two QMJHL seasons. He spent the first half of this season with the Dieppe Commandos of the Maritime League, leading the junior A team with 18 goals and 42 points in 32 games. The five-foot-11, 185-pounder has also recorded 53 penalty minutes with the Commandos.

"We are happy to add Danny to our organization. While he will continue his season with the Dieppe Commandos of the Maritime Hockey League, he will provide much needed depth as an affiliate player," said Sea Dogs associate coach and director of hockey operations Mike Kelly.

Chiasson made his QMJHL debut with the Rimouski Oceanic in 2009-10, recording one assist in 15 games before being traded to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Chiasson scored
