Press Release

Chris Daniels of the Selkirk Steelers has been named the MJHL Player of the Week. The 20-year-old forward was a key contributor in the Steelers’ offensive attack, scoring four goals and recording six points in two games last week.

Daniels, 6-foot-1, 185-pounds, has enjoyed a solid season for the Steelers, sitting with 39 points (16-23) in 40 games. The Steelers have been the hottest team in the MJHL of late, reflected in a 7-2-0-1 record in the last 10 games.

Daniels, who hails from Winnipeg, has been a key member of the club during that stretch.

The runners up for the MJHL Player of the Week award are 19 year old forward Jesse Sinatynski of the Dauphin Kings and 20 year old goaltender Shea Cooper of the Portage Terriers.

Notes: Steelers currently sit fourth in the very tight Addison Division with 31 wins and 64 points after 51 games. Off the ice, the club is preparing for its annual fund-raising dinner, which features former NHL star Marcel Dionne. The dinner takes place Thursday, February 16. Tickets can be obtained by contacting the Steelers.
