Press Release

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that upon further investigation, the Dryden Ice Dogs have forfeited their Wednesday, Jan. 18 vs. the Fort Frances Lakers due to the use of an ineligible player.

The Ice Dogs inadvertently dressed one player over the maximum of 18 skaters and two goaltenders allowed as per Hockey Canada regulations in the game.

The SIJHL received full cooperation from both clubs in the investigation and it was deemed the use of the extra player by the Ice Dogs was inadvertent.

However due to the violation, Dryden forfeits their original 6-4 victory with Fort Frances now being awarded the two points from the game and a 1-0 victory.
