On January the 15th the NORTHERN ONTARIO JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE distributed $13,000.00 of bursaries for education. The four officials that each received $1,000 bursaries for their education are Cory Hofferd of Cochrane, Chris Ackroyd of Sudbury, Marcus Policicchio and Alex Cruise of Sault Ste. Marie.
Nine players from five different teams each received $1,000 bursaries for their education, from Kirkland Lake Blue Devils Joshua Vermette and Bryden Daoust, from the North Bay Trappers Cory Sellers and Matthew Salituro, from the Soo Eagles Chris Truehl, Taylor Pickering and Travis Payne from Soo Thunderbirds Kurtis Giommi and from the Sudbury Cubs Jordan Carroll.
