Force Forward Commits to University of North Dakota

Press Release

The Fargo Force announced that forward Bryn Chyzyk has committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of North Dakota following his USHL career.

“It feels good to get the commitment out of the way and stay focused on the rest of the season here with Fargo”, said Chyzyk. “To grow up watching the Sioux play and have a dream come true to play for them, it’s pretty unbelievable.”

Chyzyk became the sixth USHL player to reach the 20-goal mark when he tallied his 20th of the season in Sunday’s 6-2 loss to Omaha. He has been one of the USHL’s hottest players as of late, including scoring 12 goals over a 13-game span from December 3rd to January 20th. Chyzyk has appeared in all 37 games for the Force this season and is second on the team in scoring with 31 points (20g, 11a). The 19-year-old was undrafted by the Force and made the team during training camp.

Chyzyk will have a familiar face when he steps on campus as his teammate Zane Gothberg will also play at North Dakota next season.

Seven other current USHL players have also committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of North Dakota – Jack Rowe (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Luke Voltin (Des Moines Buccaneers), Jordan Schmaltz (Green Bay Gamblers), Luke Johnson (Lincoln Stars), Paul LaDue (Lincoln Stars), Miles Koules (Team USA), and Keaton Thompson (Team USA).

The University of North Dakota is a member of the WCHA and has nine USHL alumni on the roster this season; Ben Blood (Des Moines/Indiana), Derek Forbort (Team USA), Joe Gleason (Des Moines Buccaneers), Danny Kristo (Omaha Lancers), Mario Lamoureux (Tri-City Storm), Nick Mattson (Indiana Ice), Andrew Panzarella (Waterloo/Tri-City/Des Moines), Michael Parks (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), and Colten St. Clair (Fargo Force).
