Sioux Lookout's Dane Morin named SIJHL's most sportsmanlike player

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Thursday that Dane Morin of the Sioux Lookout Flyers has been named the SIJHL’s most sportsmanlike player for the 2011-12 season.

The Flyers forward edged out Jeremy Johnson, (Wisconsin Wilderness) Quinn Rempel, (Thunder Bay North Stars) Blake Boaz, (Fort Frances Lakers) and Miles Beason, (Duluth Clydesdales) for the honour while becoming the first Sioux Lookout player to win the award.

A 20-year-old native of Superior, Wis., Morin is currently tied for sixth in SIJHL scoring this season with 18 goals, 43 assists and 61 points having already set career highs in each category.

He has also accumulated the fourth lowest penalty minute total in the league among those skaters who have played 50 or more games.
