Maylan signs ATO with Portland Pirates

Prince Albert SK- Justin Maylan has signed an Amateur Try Out Agreement with the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League, the club announced Thursday.

Maylan led the Raiders in scoring during the 2011-2012 campaign, recording 26 goals and 63 assist for 89 points in 72 games played. The Calgary, Alberta native played the final 3 seasons of his 5-year Western Hockey League career with the Raiders, after time with the Moose Jaw Warriors and the Prince George Cougars. In 331 career games, Maylan scored 87 goals and 168 assists totalling 255 points.

The 1st round, 17th overall pick in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft will be united with fellow Raider, defenceman Harrison Ruopp who has joined Portland for the remainder of the season. The Pirates currently sit 3 points out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the AHL’s Eastern Conference.
