Cents Forward Evan Stack Commits to University of Massachusetts Amherst Bookmark and Share

The Merritt Centennials are pleased to announce forward and captain Evan Stack has accepted an offer to play for University of Massachusetts Amherst starting with the 2012-13 season.

Stack played all 60 regular season games this past season for the Cents and established new personal bests with 32 goals and 61 points. He finishes his BCHL career with 45 goals and 48 assists in 112 games.

"We are thrilled that Evan has been rewarded with this opportunity to further his hockey career, he was everything we could have asked for in a leader here," said Cents Head Coach & GM Luke Pierce. "He is a big game player and was a major reason for the success of our team this past season."

"His dedication and commitment is unmatched, Evan was one of the kindest and most well-liked individuals I have ever worked with," continued Pierce. "We fully expect Evan to thrive at the NCAA level and know he'll become an integral part of the team at UMass (Amherst).

"I am extremely excited about this opportunity and want to thank many people for helping me get to this point," Stack said. "I truly enjoyed my time in Merritt and am ready for the next challenge in my hockey and academic career."
