Frontenacs Sign Top Four Picks

General Manager Doug Gilmour, and the Kingston Frontenacs proudly announce that their first four selections in this past April’s 2012 OHL Priority Selection (first round selection, 2nd overall, Roland McKeown, first round selection, 9th overall Samuel Bennett, second round selection, 23rd overall Dylan Di Perna, and second round selection, 24th overall Spencer Watson) have all signed with the organisation this past Saturday morning.

McKeown, a 6’1, 185 pound right shooting defenceman was the captain of the Toronto Marlboros this past season had 10 goals and 35 points, while Bennett, 5’11, 170 pound left winger had 30 goals and 58 points with the same Club. Both were in Kingston on draft day and met the fans at the Frontenacs Draft Day Party held at Fanatics Sports Lounge on April 7th. Dylan Di Perna, 6’1, 175 pounds, played for the OHL Cup champion Mississauga Rebels, is another right shooting defenceman who had nine goals and 31 points in 60 games this past season, while Spencer Watson, 5’11, 160 pound left winger had an impressive 91 goals in 71 games for the London Jr. Knights minor midget squad. He was also called up and played for the London Jr.B Nationals in their play-off run scoring eight goals and 12 points in 12 games including five goals in five Sutherland Cup final contests.

With the signing of the above mentioned players, the Frontenacs now have 11 signed players who were drafted in the first three rounds of the OHL Priority Selection on their roster.
