Hulit joins Hounds Business Operations

Press Release

The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club is pleased to announce the hiring of CHRIS HULIT to the position of Corporate Partnerships.

Chris joins the Hounds with valuable experience in both the Ontario Hockey League and Corporate Sales.

"It's sincerely an honour for me to return home and get the opportunity to help the organization grow and be a part of the momentum that Kyle and his staff are generating by helping this club move in the right direction. The future of this club looks very bright and I'm tremendously excited to join the staff and contribute in any way I can to the process. I look forward to working with the businesses and community of Sault Ste. Marie and generate new partnership ideas in an effort to further highlight the bond that the Greyhounds and the community share" began Hulit.

The Sault Ste. Marie, ON product most recently was employed at a Dealfind (Toronto), the largest Canadian-owned group-buying website in North America featuring daily deals for consumers.

As a player, Hulit was a product of the Sault Minor Hockey Association before playing 5 years in the OHL (2001-02 through 2005-06) with the Oshawa Generals and Ottawa 67s. In 2004/05, Chris and the 67's made a Memorial Cup appearance.

Following his Major Junior career, Hulit spent 5 years at St. Francis Xavier University where combined his athletics and academics.

"I passed up opportunities to play professional hockey in order to utilize the OHL Education Package and attend the highly regarded Gerald Schwartz School of Business at St. Francis Xavier University. I've always had my sites set on establishing a career within hockey and I felt that the education package offered through the OHL and St.F.X. afforded me the best opportunity to achieve that goal on a longer-term scale. Some questioned why I would pursue school in favour of pro hockey but I feel that I am a genuine example of how the OHL can help their players reach their hockey career goals whether it's by continuing to play or by helping to educate them in an effort to develop off-ice professionals" stated Hulit.

Chris will replace outgoing Director of Sales & Marketing Nick Still in mid-June.
Nick will be returning to Toronto, ON for employment and where his Fiance is employed for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

The Soo Greyhounds would like to welcome Chris to the organization and thank Nick for his year of service & friendship.
