MARCHMENT & SOUCIER SIGN WITH WELLINGTON

Press Release

Midget 'AAA' forwards Jake Marchment & Mike Soucier (photos courtesy of the Wellington Dukes), both NCAA Division I committed players, have announced they will both sign with the Wellington Dukes for the 2012-13 OJHL season.

Jake Marchment (pictured right), a 6'3", 200 lbs. right-shooting power forward, has a full NCAA scholarship to join the Canisius College Golden Griffins and is expected to play a pivotal role for the Dukes this season. He was also a draft pick of the OHL's Brampton Battalion in 2011. Last season, Jake was a key member of the Clarington 'AAA' midget team. No stranger to Prince Edward County, Jake's father Wayne, is a former Coach of the Wellington Dukes, as well as worked in the OHL as an Assistant Coach with the Oshawa Generals.

Mike Soucier, a fast, high-end skilled forward, notched 132 points for the GTHL champion Mississauga Rebels 'AAA' Midget team this past season. Mike also has an NCAA scholarship with the Bemidji State University Beavers and was heavily recruited by several Junior 'A' teams across the country. He was also selected by the OHL's Sarnia Sting in 2011 draft.

Both players had an outstanding training camp as the Dukes hosted both veterans and prospects at the Wellington and District Community Centre.

"I am thrilled that the Marchment and Soucier families have chosen to send their sons to Wellington for the upcoming season," stated Dukes General Manager and Head Coach Marty Abrams. "They both are outstanding players with tremendous character. It will make the long summer a little quicker with Jake and Mike members of the organization. We are proud to have both the Soucier`s and Marchment`s with us in Wellington."

Welcome to both Jake and Mike as they join the OJHL Family!
