SPITS SIGN SIELOFF

Press Release

General Manager Warren Rychel has signed defenceman Patrick Sieloff to an OHL contract and education package.

A graduate of the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP), Sieloff's rights were acquired in the deal that sent Jack Campbell to the Soo Greyhounds back on November 2nd, 2011.

“I’m excited to join the Windsor Spitfires,” said Sieloff. “For me it’s the fastest route to a pro career. I’m looking forward to working with the coaches and playing with my new teammates.”

Rychel says the addition of Sieloff bolsters an already strong core of blueliners.

“This is a huge addition to our hockey club,” said Rychel. “Pat is a leader, a warrior and an excellent defensive defenceman. This is a piece of the puzzle our team desperately needed to secure. He was a force for the USDP U-18 team and I’m looking forward to him donning the Spitfires logo.”

Sieloff (6’1”, 200lbs), a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, recently helped Team USA win gold at the World Under-18 Championship in the Czech Republic. He will be attending the NHL Combine in Toronto this weekend, with new teammates Ben Johnson and Brady Vail.
