West named as new Assistant Coach

Press Release

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are proud to announce the hiring of Brandon West as assistant coach and the first member of Troy Mick's coaching staff. West, the former bench boss of the MML Okanagan Rockets in 2010-2011 last worked as an assistant coach on Rylan Ferster's staff with the Westside Warriors of the BCHL in 11-12.

Most recently, West was selected by the Team Pacific management group to work as an assistant coach at the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. The event will take place during the upcoming Christmas break in Victoriaville and Drummondville, Quebec.

“I’m very excited to name Brandon West as my Assistant coach for this coming season. Brandon is a young, motivated coach who has an impressive coaching resume already at such a young age. He has been involved with the BC Hockey High Performance program for a number of years and his peers have taken notice with his recent appointment as an Assistant Coach for Team Pacific. That in itself is a big accomplishment for any coach” said Head Coach Troy Mick.

“I could not be more excited than I am today to be joining a first class organization in the Silverbacks and to be part of a great community like Salmon Arm. I’m looking forward to a great year” says new Assistant Coach Brandon West.

The SilverBacks would like to welcome Coach West to Salmon Arm!
