AJHL All-Stars To Take On Russian MHL All-Stars

The Atlantic Junior Hockey League is excited to announce a two-game series featuring an AJHL All-Star squad and the MHL Red Stars, which is a team comprised of the top U20 players from Russia's Minor Hockey League (MHL).

The games will be held December 22 and 23 at Harvard University's Bright Hockey Center in Cambridge, Mass.

“In conjunction with Tony Dalessio, Bill Flanagan, Mark Kumpel and the Atlantic Junior Hockey League, MHL Senior Director Dmitry Ephimov and I are very pleased to be able to take part in playing two games against the best from the AJHL," said Scott MacPherson, MHL International Director.

"This is the third season we have been bringing the Red Stars to the United States for play against collegiate teams and we are looking forward to getting our international schedule under way with the games against the AJHL.”

More details regarding the two-game series will be announced during the AJHL regular season.

The Atlantic Junoir Hockey League will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012-13, but its first season as a stand-alone non-profit organization. The 2012-13 season will feature league-wide directives to improve the on- and off-ice experience for the Junior hockey player and enhance their ability to achieve a NCAA roster spot. This series against the MHL is the first example of the improved AJHL product.
