Crown Rejoins SilverBacks

Press Release

It's a rumour that SilverBack faithful have been buzzing about all summer long; and now it's time for the good news.

After year in retirement, longtime Public Address announcer and Salmon Arm-extraordinaire; Myron Crown, will once again delight fans through the sound system of the Shaw Centre as he returns to his post in the media booth this season.

Myron had been the voice of the 'Backs since day one, calling hundreds of games over a ten-year span in the high above the Shaw Centre ice before retiring prior to last season; much to the chagrin of the 'Backs faithful.

After a long off season SilverBacks Director of Marketing offered up this when asked about Myron’s return, “His love of the game and passion for Junior “A” Hockey in Salmon Arm are so evident every time I see or speak with Myron. While Coach Mick has made some big moves on and off the ice this summer; in my eyes the fans are going to be saving their biggest ovation for the return of Myron. We are truly blessed to have him back in the booth and I am looking forward to seeing Myron and his wife Darla around the rink on a regular basis this winter.”

Fans might hear Myron back in the booth as soon as this Sunday when the ‘Backs open their Exhibition schedule against the Wenatchee Wild at 4:00pm. Due to previous commitments his involvement will be slightly reduced from previous years, but more than enough to satisfy the whispers of his return.

The 'Backs are absolutely thrilled to share the news of Myron rejoining the club and would like to thank him for his service and dedication to the organization.
