Kingston Vees Hire Jim Hulton

Press Release

The Kingston Voyageurs are very proud to announce the addition of Jim Hulton to the hockey staff for the Vees. Hulton, the former Assistant Coach with the NHL’s Florida Panthers, will serve as the Vees Senior Hockey Advisor for the 2012-13 season.

Hulton began his coaching career coaching the Vees back in the mid 1990’s, before leaving to the OHL, where he spent time as either Head Coach or Assistant Coach with the North Bay Centennials, Mississauga IceDogs, Belleville Bulls, Kingston Frontenacs and the St. Michaels Majors. Hulton was twice an Assistant Coach with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships, winning a Silver medal in 2004 in Finland and then a Gold Medal on arguably the best World Junior Team ever to represent Canada in 2005 in North Dakota.

Hulton was hired by the Florida Panthers in 2008 and spent three seasons with the Panthers as an Assistant Coach on Head Coach Peter DeBoer’s staff.

“We are absolutely thrilled and ecstatic to add someone with the credentials of Jim Hulton to our staff. He is a very well respected hockey man and we couldn’t be happier to have his experience and expertise on board with our program,” said Vees owner Dr. Dijana Oliver.
