Otters trim training camp roster to 28

Press Release

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League announced today that they have reduced their Training Camp roster to 28 players following today’s sessions.

Re-assigned to their home teams today were 2011 OHL Priority Selections Sean Darroch (8th round, 154th overall), Troy Saunders (12th round, 234th overall), Justin Maiolino (13th round, 254th overall) and Kyle Allan (15th round, 294th overall); and free agent invites Nathan Feric, Aidan Muir, Sebastian Stangherlin, Lucas Venuto and Kurt Wolff.

A total of 28 players remain in camp attempting to secure a spot on the Otters 2012-13 roster.

The Otters will take on the defending Eastern Conference champion Niagara IceDogs tonight at the Morgan Firestone Arena in Ancaster. Tickets for the 7:00 p.m. contest are $10.00 and a portion of the proceeds will support Ancaster’s Rotary Spray Pad Project. On Saturday, September 1st at 7:00 p.m., the Otters will face off against the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at the North Wentworth Arena in Flamborough, Ontario. That game will benefit Skate the Dream program, which provides kids that would not normally have the opportunity to play ice hockey a chance to participate. Tickets are $12.00 or $10.00 with a donation to the Flamborough Food Bank. Tickets can be purchased at the Morgan Firestone Arena.
