Steelheads Announce Jason Nobili as Assistant GM and Associate Coach

Mississauga, ONT – As we gear up for training camp and the start of the hockey season, the Mississauga Steelheads are pleased to welcome Jason Nobili as our new Assistant General Manager and Associate Coach. Jason has vast experience coaching at all levels, including time in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL), East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), and internationally with Hockey Canada. Highlights from Jason’s career include:

2011 – Team Canada East – World Junior Championship – Assistant Coach (Silver Medalist)

2009-2010 –Oakville Blades Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club – Head Coach – OJHL Champions, Dudley Hewitt Champions

2004 – Under 17, TeamOntario– Assistant Coach (Gold Medalist)

Jason is a graduate of both York University and Niagara University where he earned his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and is currently an Ontario Certified Teacher. In addition, he is also a certified HockeyCanada– Advanced Level 4 Coach. Jason and his wife, Marianne, along with their two sons Tyler (6) and Dylan (3) reside in Caledon,Ontario.

Steelheads General Manager and Head Coach, James Boyd, is excited to welcome Jason to the team, and get going on a new season. “We are very excited to have Jason join our staff. Jason is a well respected coach whose knowledge and professionalism will be a benefit to our organization.”

“I am excited to be part of the new Steelheads organization. I’m looking forward to working with the Steelheads players and coaching staff for the upcoming season, and for years to come, said Nobili.”

The entire Steelheads staff would like to welcome Jason and his family to the organization, as we look forward to an exciting season at the Hershey Centre. Steelheads training camp is set to start for August 29th. Catch the Steelheads in their first home exhibition game on Sunday September 2nd at Port Credit Arena at 2:00pm.
