The Janesville Jets
finalized a trade yesterday with fellow North American Hockey League
(NAHL) competitor the Wichita Falls Wildcats, acquiring former Wisconsin
All-State forward and Air Force Academy recruit Ryan Dau.
Dau (6'1", 180 lbs.), from Hudson, WI, had 29 points last season
playing for the Alaska Avalanche and the New Mexico Mustangs. In 17
games so far this season for Wichita Falls, Dau had 4 total goals.
Dau will be playing with the Jets this weekend in Janesville as the
team battles the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings. It is anticipated that next
season Dau will enter the Air Force Academy and play Division 1 hockey
there. The Air Force Academy Falcons play within the Atlantic Hockey Association conference.
"I am very excited about this trade," stated Jets Head Coach Joe
Dibble. "Ryan is going to bring a lot of speed, size, leadership and
great work ethic to our team. He is going to be a very exciting player
to watch here in Janesville."
Other present and past Janesville Jets players to commit to Division 1 hockey schools include Zach Diamantoni (Northern Michigan University), Jason Ford (Bemidji State University), Garrett Cecere (Colorado College), Alec McCrea (Harvard), Ross Mauermann (Providence), Larkin Jacobson (University of Denver) and Rui Encarnacao (University of Connecticut).
