Chicago Steel defenseman Christian Neumann has committed to play college hockey at the University of Connecticut following his USHL career.
Neumann has collected 12 points (1g, 11a) and a plus-one rating in 36
games for the Steel this season. The 19-year-old is one of several
local products on the team, growing up in nearby Naperville, Illinois.
As a USHL rookie last season, the defenseman scored two points (1g, 1a)
in 48 games for the Steel. He came to the League after being selected
by the Steel in the 2011 USHL Entry Draft.
The University of Connecticut is a member of the Atlantic Hockey
Association and has four USHL alumni on the roster this season; Alex
Gerke (Tri-City Storm), Tom Janosz (Ohio Junior Blue Jackets), Billy
Latta (Sioux City/Chicago), and Patrick Kirtland (Des Moines
Buccaneers).
