2013 OJHL FOUNDATION GOLF CLASSIC ANNOUNCED

Press Release

The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced that the second annual OJHL Foundation Golf Classic will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Royal Ashburn Golf Club in Ashburn (Whitby), Ontario.

The OJHL Foundation was created in 2012 to provide assistance and opportunities for the most important aspect of the league, the players.  All funds raised will support and reward our athletes with scholarships and financial assistance, as well as to fund the first Concussion Protocol Program in junior hockey.

Along with a variety of initiatives throughout the year, the main fundraiser for the OJHL foundation will be the OJHL Foundation Golf Classic.  The second annual event is slated to be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Royal Ashburn Golf Club in Ashburn, Ontario.  The annual tournament is open to the general public and will feature a shotgun start, lunch, buffet dinner, gift package, prizes and a silent auction table.  Registration is $800/foursome or $200/individual golfer.

“Following the success of our inaugural event in 2012, we are excited to make this year’s OJHL Foundation Golf Classic even bigger and better,” said OJHL Commissioner Marty Savoy.  “This is proving to be an important event on the OJHL calendar that will raise funds to not only support future player initiatives, including scholarships, but also help contribute to a concussion protocol program.”
