Press Release
Mississauga, ON – The Mississauga
Steelheads were honoured at aNahani Way Public School ‘superstars
assembly’ on Friday morning for their continued involvement in the
Mississauga community. As part of Education Week, the Steelheads were
selected to receive an Award of Distinction for their unique
contributions to public education in Peel and to the Peel community.
Education week focuses on recognizing those who make a difference by
making the school system a great place to work and learn. Nahani Way
Vice Principal, Michael Dzis has recognized the Mississauga Steelheads
as a “great partner in promoting positive citizenship. They joined us at
our open house and we joined them at the School Day hockey game to
enjoy our national sport. Throughout the season, students who
demonstrate Nahani Way values and Peel character traits are nominated to
win a pair of tickets to a Steelheads game through the Steelheads
Adopt-A-School program. There have been 70-100 students nominated each
month. We appreciate the support in recognizing and encouraging
successful positive citizenship!”
The Steelheads are a community-driven organization, and are committed
to growing our involvement in the school system through a number of
great programs. Thank-you to Nahani Way P.S. and the rest of the Peel
District School Board for this award!
The Steelheads offer a number of unique school programs including
their National Anthem Program, School Day Game, High School Hockey
Shootout and the Design the Mask Contest. For information on how your
