Terriers are 2-0 at WCC after edging Steinbach

Tyler Geibel was in on all three goals for the Yorkton Terrers as the Saskatchewan champs defeated the Steinbach Pistons of Manitoba 3-2 Sunday afternoon.

Geibel set up goals by Jeremy Johnson and Chase Norrish in the first period before Hayden Goderis responded for Steinbach.

The Pistons tied the game at 4:31 of the second on a tally from Trent Genyk but it was Geibel scoring the winner unassisted with just under two minutes to go in the middle frame.

Yorkton fired 13 shots each period on Corey Koop in the Pistons net while Dawson MacAuley made 31 saves for his second win for the Terriers.

Steinbach (0-1) plays again Monday at 7 p.m. against the Surrey Eagles (0-1).

Yorkton (2-0) is back in action Tuesday at 2 p.m. when they face the Brooks Bandits (1-0).
