Under Armour and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League ready for 2013 Combines

Press Release

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and Under Armour (ULC) (NYSE:UA) announced today the pursuit of their partnership to test and develop some of Canada’s best prospects.

As such, Under Armour, a leader in sports performance apparel, footwear and accessories, and the QMJHL will welcome 120 draft-eligible players to the Centre d’Excellence Sports Rousseau in Boisbriand to submit them to rigorous on- and off-ice testing of their endurance, reaction times, speed, agility and strength.

The 120 participants originate from Hockey Canada’s five Branches which operate on the QMJHL territory. The players will then take part in the QMJHL Gatorade Excellence Challenge which begins on Friday, May 3rd and concludes on Sunday, May 5th. They will be divided into six teams. The Province of Quebec will be represented by two teams while Prince-Edouard-Island, Newfoundland/Labrador, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia will each have one team competing in the event.

Of note, key QMJHL scouts will attend the Combines to observe the athletes as they go through on- and off-ice testing.

"We are extremely excited to be able to count on the support of Under Armour for a third consecutive year at the Combines," said Marcel Patenaude, QMJHL Executive Vice-President. "This endeavour is benefical for our young prospects as it gives them a taste of the rigorous training practices that are necessary to hope to succeed at the next level."
