Americans sign prospect Dylan Coghlan

Press Release

Kennewick, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 15-year-old prospect Dylan Coghlan to a standard WHL Players Contract.

Coghlan, a 6’1 170-pound defenseman from Nanaimo, British Columbia, recently concluded his first season with the Nanaimo Clippers Bantam AAA.  In 34 games this season, Coghlan compiled 18 goals, 40 points and 72 penalty minutes.  Coghlan, who attended British Columbia’s U-16 Provincial Camp this past July, was originally drafted by Tri-City in the 3rd round (63rd overall) in the 2013 Bantam Draft.  Coghlan joins Parker AuCoin and Nolan Yaremko as signees from the 2013 Draft class, with the Americans now having signed three of their top four picks.

“Dylan is a poised, focused hockey player on and off the ice,” explained Barclay Parneta, Americans’ Prospect Development Coach/Head Scout.  “Our scouting staff did a terrific job of identifying these characteristics within Dylan and we are excited to watch him develop and grow towards achieving his hockey goals.”
