Trudeau Comes To Ottawa

Press Release

September 23, 2013 (Ottawa): The Ottawa 67’s announced today the signing of overage goaltender Philippe Trudeau who played last season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

The 6-foot-6, 213-pound Trudeau, who turns 20 on Saturday, played for Cape Breton and Val-d’Or last season. With Val-d’Or, he was a key factor in the team’s first-round playoff series win over P.E.I.

“We’re happy to have Philippe on our roster and look forward to seeing him on the ice,” said 67’s coach and GM Chris Byrne. “Philippe is a big goalie who did well for his team last year in the playoffs.”

Trudeau joined the 67’s for today’s practice at Fred Barrett Arena.

The 67’s also announced the departure of goalie Clint Windsor who played 34 games with Ottawa last season.

“We thank Clint for his efforts with us here in Ottawa and wish him well for the future,” said Byrne.
