Bowen to Vermont

Press Release

Marlboro, MA- Junior Bruins USPHL Premier forward Brian Bowen has committed to the University of Vermont for the fall of 2015. Thru 27 games this season Bowen leads the Bruins offensively with a 12-12-24, +14 line.

The Littleton, MA native joined the Bruins program this season and has been a consistent offensive factor right from the start. Assistant coach Mike Anderson adds, “From the first time we sat down and met with Brian, thru spring and summer tournaments and into the season Brian has demonstrated great desire and a consistent work ethic. He always seems to be around the puck and he loves scoring goals”.

As a late ’95 Brian will play junior hockey for one more season prior to joining the Catamounts in the fall of 2015. For Bowen, he remains focused on his teams quest to win a league championship in the inaugural USPHL Premier season. The B’s are currently tied with the New Jersey Hitmen for the top overall spot in the league. Bowen says, “I’m so glad I came to the Bruins this year. We have a great team and it’s fun to come to the rink every day. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to play Hockey East and the opportunity with Vermont is awesome. I’m excited to join their program. It was just the perfect fit for me”.

Bowen joins teammates Tim Doherty, Bryan Lemos, Vincent Russo, Chris Miller and Kevin McKernan as the 6th Division I committed player on this year’s roster and 12th in the last 18 months. Congratulations to Brian and his family.
