Affiliate Collin Peters commits to Northern Michigan

MUSKEGON, Michigan (December 26th) – The Muskegon Lumberjacks are proud to announce that affiliate Forward Collin Peters has made his college commitment to play for the Northern Michigan University Wildcats out of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) following his junior career.

Peters, the Sheboygan, Wisconsin native, was drafted by Muskegon in the seventh-round (98th overall) during the 2013 USHL Phase One Draft and has appeared in two games this season for the Lumberjacks back on November 1st in Dubuque and November 2nd at home against Cedar Rapids.

“I chose to play for the Wildcats because I felt that was a great fit for me overall,” said Peters.  “I have family that lives in the Marquette area, and I felt that the school was a great place for me to further pursue my hockey career.”

Currently, Peters is playing for the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals Minor Midget (Under-16) Team and has totaled 33 points (21 goals and 12 assists) in 25 games played.  Prior to playing in Milwaukee, Peters played two seasons of high school hockey for the Sheboygan North (Wisconsin) Red Raiders from 2011-13 recording 88 points (53 goals and 35 assists) in 50 games played.

Additionally, Peters spent the 2012 offseason playing for Wisconsin’s top AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) hockey program, Team Wisconsin, accumulating 7 goals in 11 games played.
