Saulnier accepts scholarship to University of Alabama Huntsville

Press Release

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce that 20 year old forward Brennan Saulnier (Halifax, Nova Scotia) has accepted a scholarship to attend and play for the University of Alabama Huntsville Chargers (NCAA Div. I).   The Chargers play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

Brennan was acquired prior to the 2013-14 season and his impact was felt immediately.  Currently he has 15 goals and 29 assists in 54 games for the Oil Barons.  His strengths are his skating ability and his relentless pursuit of the puck.  Brennan has been a leader on and off the ice and has played a huge role in the success the nationally ranked Oil Barons have experienced this year.

The Oil Barons organization would like to congratulate Brennan and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically.

Brennan is the 5th Oil Baron to commit to a NCAA program joining teammates Mitch Vanderlaan (Cornell University), Kevin Miller (Ohio State University), Alex Cromwell (Providence College) and Tanner Jaillet (Denver University).
