Philippe Desrosiers named VAUGHN QMJHL Goaltender of the Month

Press Release

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today announced that Rimouski Océanic veteran netminder Philippe Desrosiers is the VAUGHN Goaltender of the Month for February.

The St-Hyacinthe native was phenomenal during the four-week span, registering nine wins in as many starts while posting an excellent 0.94 goals-against-average and .965 save percentage. Desrosiers posted three consecutive shutouts, establishing a new League record by shutting the door for a span of 243 minutes and 35 seconds. He gave up more than one goal in only two of his nine starts.

His stellar play helped him drop his goals-against-average to 2.67, squeezing him into fourth place among league leaders.

Desrosiers was drafted in the second round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars.
