Ramage to the Badgers

John Ramage of the National Team Development Program has given a verbal commitment to Wisconsin for next season. The 6'1 defenseman is in his first season with the National Program. He has four assists in 20 games Last year with the St. Louis Bandits (NAHL) he had four goals and five assists in 45 games.

He will be the seventh recruit heading to Madison next season. Justin Schultz is the only other defenseman that's coming in. Other defensive recruits for the Badgers include 2010 recruits Frank Simonelli (U-17 NTDP) and Chase Drake (Sioux City USHL). Finally Jordan Schmaltz (Team Illinois) who will be heading to Wisconsin in 2012.

With Ramage's commitment, that leaves only four players on the Under-18 Team that hasn't made a commitment. They are defenseman Rich Crowley, defenseman Tyler Amburgey, right winger David Valek, and Jeremy Morin who also plays on the right wing.

That's My Take

It's John Ramage, not Rampage. He's the son of former NHLer Rob Ramage.
