Brantford Rejoins OHA and GOJHL for Start of 2013-14 Season

MARCH 21 – The Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) are pleased to announce that they’ve accepted Brantford.

Beginning next season the franchise will play their home games out of the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.

“The entire ownership group of the new Brantford team worked very hard to make this possible,” said OHA Chief Executive Officer Scott Farley. “I look forward to working with them next season.”

With so much to do in so little time, the ownership group of the Brantford team already considers getting a new team in Brantford a win for not only themselves but the entire community of Brantford.

“Our ownership group is extremely excited to be bringing Junior B Hockey back to Brantford.  Brantford has a long and storied hockey history that we are proud to be a part of. We look forward to continuing this tradition and representing this great hockey community,” said Brantford Co-Owner and team General Manager Mike Spadafora.

The New Brantford team will enter next season in the GOJHL, playing in the Midwestern Conference.

“On behalf of the GOJHL I would like to congratulate Mike Spadafora and the entire Brantford group on their successful bid to join our league starting in the 2013 -2014 season,” said GOJHL Chairman Shawn McKelvie.
