Day 13: Sunday August 26th

The Wolves and USHL finalist from 2012, the Waterloo Blackhawks battled today in a close and extremely hard fought game. Both teams came out hard and the first period was full of excitement but neither team could get on the scoreboard in the opening frame. With only one penalty being called against each team in the period it was a fairly wide open affair. It was much the same in the second period as both teams had scoring opportunities but could not capitalize as Joel Vienneau in the Wolves net and Cal Petersen for Waterloo kept opposing shooters at bay through 40 minutes of play.

The game remained scoreless until almost half way through the third period when Josh Leivo had a partial breakaway and made a nice move to beat the US goaltender and open the scoring. Just 35 seconds later Frank Corrado scored on a shot from the point, just four seconds into a Wolves power play, to give Sudbury a 2-0 lead.  The Wolves held on to win by that same score and win the 2012 Junior Club World Cup.
Sudbury's Michael Kantor was named the top forward of the Tournament and Wolves forward Josh Leivo won the tournament's top scorer award.

The team will depart from Omsk in a few hours with brief stopovers in Moscow and Paris, before touching down in Toronto Monday afternoon.
