BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, October 6, 2009 - The P.E.I. Rocket have announced that they have relieved Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Guy Chouinard, from his duties with the team.
"We felt the organization needed a change behind the bench. This is a very difficult decision to remove a gentleman like Guy Chouinard. The 25 players all have a share in the blame, but unfortunately, only one person takes the fall in this difficult situation," said President & Governor Serge Savard Jr. "We just felt the team was not responding the way they should be," he added.
The Rocket indicated that a further announcement will be made shortly as to the replacement for Chouinard. Corrado Micalef remains with the team as Assistant Coach.
