Press Release

The United States Hockey League today announced the weekly award winners for the 22nd week of the 2010-11 USHL regular season.

Congratulations to forward Jimmy Mullin of the Fargo Force, named CCM Offensive Player of the Week; defenseman Andrew Welinski of the Green Bay Gamblers, selected as CCM Defensive Player of the Week; and Ryan McKay of the Green Bay Gamblers who earned honors as the Reebok USHL Goaltender of the Week.

Mullin scored five points (3g, 2a) and posted a plus-four rating to lead the Force to a pair of wins. One day after turning 19, he scored a goal and dished out an assist in Friday's 4-1 victory over Sioux City. He also registered a game high nine shots on goal. Mullin scored a pair of goals in Saturday's 6-3 win against Lincoln. His second goal of the game, a shorthanded tally, sparked a five-goal third period for the Force. Playing in his first USHL season, Mullin currently ranks ninth overall in League scoring with 47 points (18g, 19a) in 39 games played.

Welinski recorded three points (2g, 1a) as the Gamblers earned three victories to extend their winning streak to five games. The 17-year-old scored his team's first goal of the game in Thursday's 5-1 win against Indiana. The defenseman then tallied the game-winner with just seven seconds remaining in overtime of Saturday's 5-4 victory against Omaha. He completed his week with a plus-one rating to help the Gamblers earn a 3-0 shutout of Waterloo on Sunday. It is the first USHL season for the native of Duluth, Minnesota who has collected 12 points (5g, 7a) and a plus-13 rating in 39 games.

McKay posted a 0.47 goals-against-average and a .985 save percentage over three appearances for the Gamblers. He made 29 saves in the 5-1 win vs. Indiana on Thursday. The 18-year-old earned the victory after coming on in relief during the third period of Saturday's 5-4 win against Omaha. McKay then stopped all 32 shots he faced to record his fourth shutout of the season in Sunday's 3-0 win over Waterloo. The native of Palatine, Illinois currently leads all USHL goaltenders with a 1.97 GAA and .931 SV% while his 21 victories are second most in the League.
