Panthers Agree to Entry-Level Contract with D Jonathan Racine

 SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to an entry-level contract with D Jonathan Racine.

“We are pleased to have signed Jonathan to an entry level deal. He is a hardworking and physical player who is ready to make the transition from juniors to the professional level,” said Tallon. “We look forward to his continued growth and development within our organization.”

In his fourth season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), Racine, 19, recorded 21 points (8-13-21) while ranking tied for sixth in the league with 138 PIM in 61 games played for Moncton. The Montreal, PQ native collected 13 points (3-10-13) and 107 PIM in 61 games and six points (1-5-6) in 11 playoff games in 2011-12, helping the Shawinigan Cataractes win the Memorial Cup.

The 6-foot-2, 202-pound defenseman was selected by Florida in the third round (87th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
