Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the schedule for the 2013 Rogers Western Conference Championship Series featuring the London Knights and the Plymouth Whalers.
The top two playoff seeds in the Western Conference will faceoff for the Wayne Gretzky Trophy beginning Friday April 19 at 7:05 pm in London. The Knights finished the 2012-13 regular season with the OHL’s best record capturing the Hamilton Spectator Trophy along with a Midwest Division title collecting 105 points with a 50-13-2-3 record, while the Whalers captured the West Division title with 93 points and a 42-17-5-4 record.
The Knights advanced first to the Rogers Western Conference Championship Series following a 4-1 series win over the Kitchener Rangers on Friday night, with the Whalers edging the Owen Sound Attack by a 3-1 score in Game 6 of their Western Conference Semi-Final series on Sunday evening.
