A Letter from Port Huron Owner Maribeth Hayes

Press Release

Dear Fighting Falcons Fans,

With great excitement, our organization is working towards the start our fourth NAHL season at McMorran Arena in downtown Port Huron. Throughout our first three seasons, we have thoroughly enjoyed becoming more and more a part of the Blue Water Area, as we have grown from a six-win team in our inaugural season to back-to-back trips to the Robertson Cup Playoffs.

Along the way we have watched many great young players reach new heights in their hockey careers. We began the 2012-13 season with a renewed focus on giving our players the best opportunity to follow their dreams at the collegiate level, culminating in 11 players who made college commitments last season, one of the highest totals in our league.

Near the conclusion of last season, our game day staff gave fans the opportunity to fill out a short survey to let us know how we can improve the fan experience. We listened to these suggestions and have taken action.

It is my pleasure to announce today that the Port Huron Fighting Falcons have entered into a partnership with Radio First to broadcast each and every Port Huron Fighting Falcons game throughout the 2013-14 NAHL season. We are ecstatic to have top-notch play-by-play broadcaster Dennis Stuckey back on board for next season, where he will instantly regain his status as a top-tier NAHL broadcaster.

Our partnership with Radio First would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of our front office staff, and the generous work of Radio First Vice President and General Manager Larry Smith.

Beyond the opportunity to have our games broadcast live on WHLX/WHLS, our partnership with Radio First gives us the opportunity to offer top-notch advertising packages to local businesses. Our advertisers and sponsors can now reach the thousands of visitors to McMorran Arena each year through in-arena advertising, and have the chance to reach thousands more through four extremely popular radio stations.

Our commitment to community involvement will have our players more active in Blue Water Area events than ever before. We had a great time at Blue Water Fest last week, where our players and our mascot, Shootzy, had the chance to interact with thousands of children and families.

We will start the 2013-14 season with an experienced coaching staff determined to make a run for the Robertson Cup, and a talented front office staff ready to do everything we can to work towards future success.

Our season ticket prices are among the most price-friendly in the NAHL, and include a number of new benefits as requested in fan surveys, including the opportunity to swap out tickets to games you are unable to attend, and the right to purchase additional tickets at your discounted season ticket holder rate.

In 2013-14, we will strive to continue to bring low-cost, high-value family-friendly entertainment to the Blue Water Area, and to continue to earn the support of the best fans in junior hockey. We will take an active role in growing our fan base, one goal, one game, one community event at a time.

Thank you so much for your support, and GO FIGHTING FALCONS!

 Sincerely,

Maribeth Hayes
