Musketeers Forward Commits to University of North Dakota

 Sioux City Musketeers forward Trevor Olson has committed to play collegiate hockey at the University of North Dakota following his USHL career.

Acquired midway through the season from the Green Bay Gamblers, Olson has put up 30 points (9g, 21a) and posted a plus-14 rating in 30 games for the Musketeers.  Three times since coming to Sioux City he has recorded four-point games, including on February 8th when he netted two goals, his second multi-goal game of the season.  The 19-year-old has found the scoresheet in six of his last seven games, accumulating 13 points (4g, 9a) and a plus-11 rating over that span.  In 61 total games this season, he has produced 46 points (16g, 30a) and a plus-16 rating.

The Duluth, Minnesota native first played in the USHL last season when he appeared in seven games for Green Bay.

Olson joins Musketeers teammate Ryan Mantha who is also committed to play hockey at the University of North Dakota.  Nine other current USHL players are also committed to the school; Jack Rowe (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Luke Voltin (Des Moines Buccaneers), Charlie Pelnik (Fargo Force), Nick Schmaltz (Green Bay Gamblers), Luke Johnson (Lincoln Stars), Paul LaDue (Lincoln Stars), Tucker Poolman (Omaha Lancers), Keaton Thompson (Team USA), and Chris Wilkie (Team USA).

The University of North Dakota was a member of the WCHA and had 13 USHL alumni on the roster this season; Derek Forbort (Team USA), Nick Mattson (Indiana Ice), Danny Kristo (Omaha Lancers), Dan Senkbeil (Youngstown Phantoms), Drake Caggiula (Des Moines Buccaneers), Michael Parks (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Colten St. Clair (Fargo Force), Rocco Grimaldi (Team USA), Joe Gleason (Des Moines Buccaneers), Andrew Panzarella (Waterloo Black Hawks), Jordan Schmaltz (Green Bay Gamblers), Bryn Chyzyk (Fargo Force), and Zane Gothberg (Fargo Force).

In addition, North Dakota head coach Dave Hakstol spent four seasons in the USHL as head coach of the Sioux City Musketeers (1996-2000).
