Penticton Vees forward Brock Balson has been named the Gongshow BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 7, the league announced Monday.
Balson potted a pair of overtime winners including the series-clincher as the Vees got past the West Kelowna Warriors in the Interior Conference finals. The Kamloops product sparked a third-period rally in Game 3 with his first of two goals on the night. His second came at 9:47 of double-OT to win the game.
In the series-deciding Game 5, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward tipped home a James De Haas shot to send the Vees into the Fred Page Cup Finals.
