Thurday's Notes

Cam Reid of the Victoria Grizzlies of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) has committed to the University of New Hampshire for the 2009-2010 season. So far this season, he has two goals and four assists in 11 games. Last season he had 10 goals and 16 assists in 55 games.

New Hampshire has a pipeline in Western Canada. Grayson Downing of the Westside Warriors also of the BCHL. He hasn't played in the BCHL yet this season. They also have a defenseman Joey Laleggia who plays for the Vancouver NW Giants of the British Columbia Major Midget Hockey League. So far this season, he has two goals and six assists in six games. Both players will be in Durham in 2010. Another defenseman, Connor Hardowa is playing for Spruce Grove of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He has six goals and ten assists in 12 games. He's a 2009 recruit.

Andrew McCabe of the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League has giving a verbal commitment to the University of Nebraska-Omaha for next season. This season he has four goals and four assists in six games.

Charlie Carkin has committed to Mercyhurst. He's a forward for the New England Junior Huskies of the Eastern Junior Hockey League. In seven games he has two assists. Mercyhurst has three other recruits in the EJHL. John Mousso plays for the Bridgewater Bandits. The forward has one assist in nine games. Alex Gallen, a defenseman with the New Jersey Hitmen, has two goals and three assists in seven games.

The College Hockey Recruit Exchange had series this week from different experts on the Top 15 uncommitted college hockey prospects. Jeremy Morin tops most of the lists. The only list that he didn't appear on was Chris Dilks of the Western College Hockey Blog. Chris based the list on the players he has seen. As each day goes by, it's less likely that Morin will step on a college campus. I believe he will be in Kitchener next year.

That's My Take
