SilverBacks goalie Moore inks with Broncos

Press Release

Salmon Arm SilverBacks goalie Kris Moore has accepted a scholarship to attend Western Michigan University and play for the Broncos for the 2011-12 season.

Moore, who came to Salmon Arm in the offseason after two seasons with the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, posted 21 wins in 34 games this season and earned 10 more victories in the playoffs.

The 6-foot, 202-pound Calgary native will join Salmon Arm teammate and SilverBacks captain David Killip. Both players just returned from a successful trip to Russia where they competed for Team Canada at an invitational tournament.

The BCHL will be well represented in the Broncos crease in the seasons to come as they've also recruited Alberni Valley Bulldogs netminder Frank Slubowski to attend in the fall.

For his Junior A carreer, Moore posted three straight 20-win seasons and never had a goals against average over 3.00 or a save percentage lower than .903.
