Spirit and Wolves Swap Prospect Rights

The Saginaw Spirit acquired the rights to 91-born center Brandon Pirri, a second round pick of the NHL Chicago Blackhawks, following a trade with the Sudbury Wolves. In return the Wolves acquired the prospect rights to 91-born Robert Visca. Additional considerations were not released.

The Sudbury Wolves had selected Brandon Pirri 143rd overall in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection out of the Toronto Young Nationals Minor Midget program. He spent the last two seasons in the OJHL, most recently with the Georgetown Raiders where he tallied 46 goals and 28 assists for 94 points in 44 games during the 2009-2010 regular season. Pirri also played in the 2008 and 2009 OJHL All-Star game. The Toronto, Ontario native was selected by the Stanley Cup winning Chicago Blackhawks 59th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The Saginaw Spirit had selected Robert Visca with the 96th overall pick in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection out of the Barrie Colts Minor Midget program. The Hamilton, Ontario native was a member of the University of Massachusetts Lowell River Hawks program last season.
