OJHL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES SET TO GO!

Press Release

The 2011 OJHL Championship Series has been set following the conclusion of game seven between the Kingston Voyageurs and Oakville Blades.

Facing off for the third consecutive year, the #3 ranked seed in the North-West Conference, the Oakville Blades, and the #3 ranked seed in the South-East Conference, the Kingston Voyageurs, battled hard for seven games before deciding the victor. Only minutes away from a series victory in game six, the Blades tied the game and then won in overtime, forcing game seven tonight in Oakville. The Blades would not disappoint their hometown faithful, claiming a decisive 5-0 victory. The Blades made history tonight as they become the first team in OJHL history to play in the Championship Series in four consecutive years.

The Blades will face the South-East Conference regular season champion Wellington Dukes in the final. The Dukes defeated the Stouffville Spirit in six games, wrapping up their series on Thursday night. Game one of the Final will take place on Sunday night (April 3) at the Wellington & District Community Centre in Wellington at 6:30 pm.
