Hibbeler Commits to Quinnipiac University

Lincoln Stars defenseman Cory Hibbeler has committed to Quinnipiac University and will attend the school beginning this fall.

Hibbeler played in all but one of the 60 regular season games for the Stars and collected 14 points (3g, 11a), which led the team's defensemen. He was also tied for second on the squad with 120 penalty minutes. It was the second USHL season for the 20-year-old native of St. Charles, Missouri after playing 47 games for the Stars in 2008-09. In 106 career games in the League, he posted 25 points (5g, 20a) and 169 penalty minutes. He also appeared in six playoff games during the 2009 postseason and recorded two assists with a plus-three rating.

Quinnipiac University is located in Hamden, Connecticut and is a member of the ECAC. Nine USHL alumni were on the roster for the Bobcats men's hockey team during the 2009-10 season; Ben Arnt (Omaha Lancers), Loren Barron (Indiana Ice), Mike Dalhuisen (Lincoln), Zach Hansen (Sioux Falls Stampede), Eric Hartzell (Sioux Falls Stampede), Spencer Heichman (Sioux City Musketeers), Eric Lampe (Chicago Steel), Sami Liimatainen (Chicago Steel), and Pat McGann (Chicago Steel).
