For the second consecutive year the Gloucester Rangers Junior « A » hockey team will once again host the CCHL (formerly CJHL) entry level draft on May 18th at the Earl Armstrong Arena, 2020 Ogilvy Rd in Gloucester. The draft will start at 6:00 pm and is open to all prospective draft picks, their families, all hockey fans/players and media.
The 12 teams from the CCHL will have owners, managers, coaches and scouting staff at this event to announce their player selections. This year’s young group of prospects is fairly deep and the selection process for all teams will be difficult, but for the players drafted it will be an opportunity to develop their skills further, and also allows them to move into a higher and more competitive level of hockey.
As well as the regular draft selections, each of the CCHL teams can protect two major bantam players who live closest to their home rink.The 2011 draft is expected to be an exciting night for our young hockey players in Eastern Ontario and we invite you all to come out, support our young hockey players, and join in the fun at this year’s draft.
