Charlie Lindgren commits to St. Cloud State

Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today that goaltender Charlie Lindgren has committed to St. Cloud State University for the 2013-14 season.

Lindgren is coming off his first season in Sioux Falls in which he went 9-19-3 with a 3.33 Goals-Against-Average and an impressive .907 save percentage. He played over 1,800 minutes and made 981 saves. He was named USHL Goaltender of the Week on November 8th.

Prior to joining the Stampede, Lindgren played at Lakeville North High School where he went 8-9-1 with a 3.30 GAA and a .905 save percentage with two shutouts.

St. Cloud State is entering their final year in the WCHA and will join the National Collegiate Hockey Conference in 2013-14 which consists of: St. Cloud State, Colorado College, University of Denver, Miami University, University of Minnesota Duluth, University of Nebraska Omaha, University of North Dakota and Western Michigan.

The Huskies are coached by for Stampede head coach Bob Motzko who is entering his eighth season at St. Cloud. He was the Herd’s first ever head coach and led the Stampede to 40 wins during his final season in 2000-01.
